What we do

The Solihull School Nursing service lead and deliver on the Healthy Child Programme (5-19 years) to ensure that every child has a positive healthy start in life. School Nurses take over from Health Visitors who provide services from pregnancy through to the age of five.

The teams work in schools and the local community to promote and provide support around good physical health as well as emotional health and wellbeing. School Nurses will provide support from the earliest point; from a child’s entry into school right through to the end of their school life.

The service operates out of two administrative hubs located in the North and South of the borough. Each School within Solihull (excluding Private Schools) has a named nurse assigned, this ensures you/your child sees the same nurse and receives continuity of care.

The service works in partnership with other health, social care and education professionals to provide access and support with the intention of improving outcomes and improving health inequalities. The School Nurse will bring together a wide range of agencies to ensure accessibility to all as and when needed.
